Meet Corinna

Corinna Killeen is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor. She often encounters burnout in her clients, along with a noticeable lack of joy in their lives. To address this, she initiates a reflective dialogue, encouraging individuals to revisit past sources of happiness and fulfilment. Central to her approach is the cultivation of self-compassion, where she challenges the inner critic that may undermine one's sense of worthiness for therapy or support. Corinna firmly believes that everyone, regardless of circumstance, deserves assistance and validation in their journey toward healing and well-being.

My experiences and interests give me a unique understanding of…
  • Grief and trauma; I specialize in grief and trauma because I have lost a lot of the people that I love, including my younger brother to terminal illness. This was a catalyst in my life, I started to see things very differently. I find the world, in general, is not very grief-literate, which makes things very difficult for grievers. I'm a human therapist, not a blank slate.
  • PTSD; I also struggled with PTSD after a car accident in my 20s, I know what it's like to try to recover in a world where everything is so fast-paced and demanding and it can be hard to catch our breath when things can be so overwhelming.
  • Counselling; I believe in counselling because I have done a lot counselling throughout my life and found it to be a true mode of healing, I don't expect my clients to do something that I would not be willing to do and I am very open about that.

  • If you prefer to start working on reducing stress in your everyday life, learning coping skills, and stabilizing before processing the deeper things. I don't rush people to process things that may cause them to feel overwhelmed.

If we work together you can expect to feel...
  • Cared for. I foster a compassionate connection with my clients. I offer 60-minute sessions and I start my sessions with check-ins around what has been happening in their lives so that they can feel heard and have a place to share both everyday wins and difficulties and then we can refocus on their goals for therapy.
  • Collaborated with; I also like to work collaboratively with my clients to find healthy coping tools so that they can build a toolbox for you to use outside of our sessions in real time in your everyday life.
