Meet Mohamad

Mohamad Shabib is a Canadian Certified Counsellor and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) who meets clients where they are, helping them move forward with the right therapeutic approach. He believes healing comes from within and sees his role as a catalyst for change, empowering clients to transform pain into strength. With lived experience as a refugee, Mohamad deeply understands trauma and the resilience it takes to rebuild. Clients can expect a compassionate, non-judgmental space where they feel seen, heard, and supported. He has a special interest in working with trauma, guiding clients toward hope and a renewed sense of self. If you're ready to take the next step, Mohamad welcomes you to connect.

My experiences and interests give me a unique understanding of…
  • The challenges faced by individuals navigating mental health, addiction, intergenerational experiences, and major life transitions.
  • The impact of trauma, chronic stress, and societal pressures on emotional and psychological well-being, especially through my lens as a public health and mental health advocate.
  • The role of language and cultural identity in mental health, shaped by both my background and my work with refugees, newcomers, and Indigenous communities.
  • How to integrate evidence-based approaches with a client-centered perspective to foster a compassionate and supportive space for healing.
  • The importance of creating a space where clients from all walks of life, regardless of ethnicity, faith, or background, feel understood, valued, and safe to explore their struggles freely.
My cultural or ancestral background is…
  • Informed by my lived experience growing up bilingual and bicultural as a speaker of both Arabic and English in a richly diverse environment.
My clients describe me using words like…
  • Compassionate, understanding, and insightful.
  • Able to create a safe, non-judgmental space where they feel heard
  • Has a patient, deeply empathetic, and intuitive approach that makes them feel supported and empowered.
